ABOUT THE TEACHER
Rami Kouhana is a holistic therapist and teacher with over 30 years of experience in the natural healing arts. Blending ancient Eastern traditions with modern manual therapy and somatic healing methods, he integrates bodywork, Tai Chi, breathwork, and meditation to support deep and lasting health. Rami’s work has helped thousands of clients overcome chronic pain, anxiety, digestive issues, and emotional trauma through a grounded, compassionate, and integrative approach.
Rami teaches Tai Chi and Qi Gong as powerful tools for integrative health, personal development, and deep body–mind awareness. With decades of training in Daoist movement, as well as somatic therapies and meditation, his classes guide students through fluid, grounded sequences that release tension and cultivate an efficient, interconnected way of moving that promotes lasting health.
This approach conditions the muscles, joints, connective tissue, and fluids of the body, while simultaneously training healthy posture and alignment, and calming and harmonizing the mental and emotional faculties. The result is a comprehensive system of self-care and personal development.
These practices are the foundational part of Chinese Medicine, a truly holistic approach to preventative medicine - giving each student the tools to become responsible for their own health and wellbeing.
Students regularly report profound benefits: increased mobility, a sense of calm and groundedness, greater strength and ease of movement, better immune function, and relief from common or chronic pain conditions such as back, neck, joint pain, sciatica and more.
More than just fitness, Rami’s Daoist Tai Chi and Qi Gong classes blend movement and meditation—gently harmonizing breath, form, function, and presence to support lifelong resilience and vitality.

I´m doing Yoga and Qi Gong with Rami because of stiffness I have, even though I walk every day. And I also have an Illness. After just 10 days of practice so far I notice a lot more limberness in my neck and shoulders and knees. And I have a lot more stamina and energy. And there's less pain. The structure and order of the exercises are smooth and there is such a beautiful flow that's very meditative and soothing. So not only am I getting amazing stretches, I can feel that, but I also feel calmer and more relaxed and my tension is being released from all those tight spots.

I've been practicing Tai Chi/Qigong with Rami for just two months, just two days a week... and the change has been profound. Despite years of practicing yoga, I've never felt my shoulders so relaxed during the day, nor have I felt the tension in my neck and back so relieved. Two hours a week, and my body begins to release what it's been holding in for so long. Thank you, Rami, for guiding such a powerful practice.🙏✨

I've just started doing Yoga and Qi Gong with Rami. Its having a lot of positive effects for my hip injury and much less tightness from all that sitting while I´m working. It's a new challenge and complimenting my other forms of exercise and physical therapy. Its getting my joints moving and my brain working.

In September, 2024 I suffered a small stroke and after rehab lingering weakness remained on my right side and my balance was poor. The Tai Chi classes helped me to significantly improve my balance and regain strength. I look forward to continuing Tai Chi practice in my home community and to practicing with Rami when we return to Bucerias next winter. The practice has been tremendously beneficial to me.

Yesterday was the first time I did Qi Gong. I like to move and I enjoy this more than yoga. After it I felt energized and it felt like every vein, joint & organ in my body was loosened up. I can recommend this to everybody who wants to exercise and doesn't like to do fitness. I loved it!
- Ruth Lauwaert
I have worked with Rami Kouhana doing Tai Chi Qi Gong exercise for about 6 months. After the first month I could definitely feel a difference. I have found I have more flexibility and better balance. This is a non stressful and peaceful form of exercise for any everyone of any age.

I am a 200hr Yoga teacher trained in Bali Indonesia certified with Yoga Alliance International. Yoga has been a compliment to my athletic lifestyle, supporting my body to move freely and strong. I enjoy learning new things and adding to my fitness lifestyle. Tai Chi has always intrigued me and I became keen to learn after I spent some time in China watching the locals practice in the park. The opportunity presented for me this summer when Rami came to my village at Sun Peaks Resort in the interior of British Columbia.
Within the first few days of class, much to my surprise, I ended up having shoulder pain and restriction of movement, I was disappointed at first thinking "oh no, I guess I will need to stop going to class". On further reflection, I sensed it was from a previous injury that the Tai Chi helped resurface providing my body an opportunity to heal on a deeper level. I continued to attend class, but to move more mindfully and with intent and to use my breath as the guide as instructed by Rami. In doing so, within a few days the pain was gone and I had more range of movement than I've had since the initial injury.
I am including Tai Chi in my daily practice combining it with Yoga. The Tai Chi movements feel natural and intuitive with a dynamic flow and rhythm as in a dance.
I highly recommend Tai Chi as a compliment to ones holistic lifestyle for enhancing and deepening their mind, body, spirit connection.

I highly recommend Rami's classes. It gently helps with strength, flexibility and correct breathing and leaves you energized and not tired.

This class is different from all my other Tai Chi experiences and a great addition. It makes it easy to overcome my limits, very beneficial. Driving home I felt my body very loosely being rocked by the bumpy roads, a wonderful sensation! Give it a try!

Rami’s Qigong and Tai Chi classes are always fun and challenging, both physically and mentally! I feel greater strength throughout my body, improving my posture, balance, and endurance. As an acupuncturist, I understand the affect of this ancient art on the meridians, influencing the health of the body, mind, and spirit. Rami leads the practice with expertise and encouragement. This is an art that I intend to continue throughout my life. Gracias, Rami!
